Mexico City Skyscraper Aims to Bond Residents and Environment Together
A new skyscraper has been proposed for Mexico City that has a slightly different goal than most, which is to join residents and the surrounding environment together in harmony. Known as Barrio Capital, this new project is taking steps to create a solution for some of the city’s issues.
Some of the issues that residents face include: a lack of public parking, an insufficient amount of public space per resident and a poor relationship with the environment as a whole. In order to help remedy these issues, this skyscraper will start by offering residents unrestricted access to public facilities.
Proposed to be located in Insurgentes Roundabout, Barrio Capital would be in the heart of the city in order for easy pedestrian as well as automobile access. This skyscraper would also have 26 different levels, with 12 solely dedicated to public parking.
The other levels would be dedicated to facilities open to the public, which include: a multimedia center that houses books and music, a public sports center, public parks, children’s areas and a large public auditorium. The goal of this project is to strengthen the bond between Mexico City residents and the city.
We are loving the idea of this new skyscraper and hope to see it pan out to its full potential. If you are feeling inspired for your own project, Vertical Arts can help. Contact us today for more information regarding all things architecture in Steamboat Springs.
