PBS' 10 Buildings That Changed America

PBS' 10 Buildings That Changed America

We were excited to hear that PBS is planning on airing a national TV special that examines the “10 Buildings that Changed America.” Expected in 2013, PBS’ new TV special will be all about the architecture that helped shape our country and changed the “way we live, work and play.” From Trinity Church in Boston to the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, these 10 structures will forever be ingrained in American culture.

Here is the list of ten selected by a panel of architects and historians.

Virginia State Capitol, Richmond, VA

Trinity Church, Boston, MA

Wainwright Building, St. Louis, MO

Robie House, Chicago, IL

Highland Park Ford Plant, Highland Park, MI

Southdale Center Mall, Edina, MN

Seagram Building, New York, NY

Dulles International Airport, Chantilly, VA

Vanna Venturi House, Chestnut Hill, PA

Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles, CA

Filming for the new TV series started last month. The host for the show is Geoffrey Baer. To learn more about the program visit wttw.com/10buildings.
