The Steamboat Pilot on Rob Williams at K. Saari

In a post last week, we invited you to the opening of K. Saari’s latest exhibit: New Work of Rob Williams, but we’re not the only ones buzzing about it.

Check out a great article on the new show by Margaret Hair in the Steamboat Pilot and see some examples from Mr. William’s new collection, entitled “Aspen Canticles,” acrylic works on wood panels that offer a departure from the materials Williams (a former Steamboat resident) is accustomed to using–oil paint and resin for his signature floral images.

ArtShow_courtesy2_3-11_t640According to the article, “’Aspen Canticles’ plays to what Williams called an ‘affinity to line,’ using the straight shapes of aspens to cut vertical planes across the work. The series sticks closely to a natural, botanical theme Williams has favored for years.”

Said Williams, “My work is all about appreciating the small things in life, the little things. To me, nature is just that … You see it every day, but people, they just walk by it, they don’t pay attention.”
