Vertical Arts Sponsors Inaugural “Art Steamboat”: $10k Art Prize at All Arts Festival
Steamboat Springs came alive last week with the sights and sounds of the annual All Arts Festival, presented by the Steamboat Chamber of Commerce. The event was filled with a wide variety of tours, workshops and exhibits. These included a Matisse painting workshop and a children’s theater workshop. Austin-based country band, Asleep at the Wheel, headlined the live music that always accompanies the arts festival.
Organizers showcased Rocky Mountain regional art in a juried show featuring 30 finalists with a variety of unique pieces displayed throughout Steamboat for public view.
The Art Steamboat competition culminated with an awards reception where judge Betsy Dillard Stroud selected Canon City-based artist Mary Pape’s ‘Rainy Days and Monday’s’ as the grand prize recipient of $10,000. Following the awards ceremony, each of the 30 finalists’ pieces were made available for purchase.
Vertical Arts was proud to be a sponsor of this year’s inaugural event. As architects, landscape architects, and interior designers, we’re proud to live in a community where all forms of art are created with such excellence and celebrated with such enthusiasm. We believe in supporting the community where we live and work, and look forward to continuing our involvement and support of the arts into the future.
