This rustic residence is located at the top of a beautiful hill overlooking the beautiful Whangamata Bay. Our clients were looking for a rustic, timber frame home reminiscent of the mountains that define the rugged New Zealand landscape. VA designed a stunning estate that steps up the steep hillside and slowly reveals different views at each level. The great room, kitchen and dining spaces all sprawl out onto a large lawn landscape that extends to the edge of the site. An infinity pool and a series of cascading water features travel down the hill and over the edge, rooting the home in the land. Terracing English gardens create pockets for relaxation outdoors and culminate at an outdoor seating area perched at the top of the hill.
