ABOUT US

Vertical Arts Architecture is a full-service, multi-disciplinary firm of highly experienced and visionary designers, planners and technicians providing a menu of architecture, land planning, interior, and landscape design services.

OUR TEAM

A fully-integrated architecture, interior design, landscape and planning firm with offices in Steamboat Springs, Vail and Denver, Vertical Arts employs 18 team members who wear many hats depending on the day, hour or phase of each project. In fact, owner Brandt Vanderbosch says the ever-changing, dynamic nature of the business is the fun part. Like any high performing team, there is a common goal that drives our team to work together and strive for excellence; at Vertical Arts, the client is always most important and everything we do is designed to craft our clients’ stories with empathy and creativity.

OUR APPROACH

The cornerstone of everything we do is listening, which helps us understand each client’s unique problems and opportunities from the very beginning. From there, our multidisciplinary approach allows us to build the right team for the job. Our concierge service mentality means that each project’s creative team takes full responsibility as a client advocate, solving all problems from start to completion. During the process we never lose sight of our goal of crafting your unique story through architecture and design.

OUR PROCESS

Our proprietary envisioning process is the most important component of schematic design and planning. Through envisioning, we carefully explore the major concepts and ideas of the project including the client’s goals, a site’s history, the surrounding environment, local design guidelines, materiality, and more. Armed with that information, we craft the overall story, creative concept and technical strategy that will serve as the foundation for the development. The result is an invaluable tool that guides the client, the design team and critical stakeholders through the life of the project.

“Thank you again for your work on The Olympian. The project exceeded my expectations in design and service. The Olympian is clearly the most respected architectural work in downtown Steamboat Springs. Your implementation of stone, steel and timber in a timeless fashion is the new cornerstone against which future developments will be measured. The attention to detail in design and construction observation services has been second to none. I look forward to a continued long and prosperous relationship with Vertical Arts.”

– Paul B. Franklin, Managing Member

“The team at Vertical Arts was given little parameters to work with, a few words in a spatial vision statement, and they created an award winning work space that has been a pleasure to work in and a space we are proud to call our home.”

– David Hill and Brent Pearson, Principles, Resort Ventures West

“As an international development group, we work with architects throughout the US, Latin America and the Caribbean. The experience collaborating with Vertical Arts has been among the very best. Too often in large project design the working dynamic becomes adversarial, with the artistic vision of the designer clashing with the development goals of the client. Not so with Vertical Arts. They actively request ideas, input and innovation from our group every step of the way. In return, they interpret our requests and inspire us with their creations. Steamboat Highlands started with an idea. The vision that Vertical Arts defined made our idea a reality.”

– Zach Beimes, Gamir/Reilly Developments
