Fly Fisherman’s Ridge

The clients have a deep connection to the surrounding landscape, which is reflected through the placement and ultimate design of the home. The architecture draws humbly from the rich history of the surrounding ranch community, while taking advantage of all the site has to offer. A long standing spruce tree serves as the anchor, as the home finds its footing around it. Naturally, it divides the major private and public spaces of the home and offers a spectacular space of refuge in the master wing.

The entry opens up to the heart of the home, the great room. Here dramatic 180 degree valley views great you through branches of lush spruce.

The home rides along a steep ridge, floating above the fertile creak that winds below the home on the valley floor. The babbling flows can be heard throughout the house, while a patient observer may catch a glimpse of a rising trout rippling at the waters surface. This  moment of reflection serves as the homes main purpose, a retreat away from distraction that brings family and friends together to appreciate and respect the land. This home will stand as a test to time and teach future generations the story  of a beautifully wild Colorado Ranch.
