A Steamboat native finds their roots and enlists our team to help build her and her partner a forever home near Strawberry Park. Purchasing a plot of land with historic building, the couple knew that their new home should be a combination of both the past and present. Picking up on historic cues from the existing buildings, this new home features rustic inspired siding and pitched roofs.
Of course the beautiful, picturesque location of the meadow and surrounding mountains covered in aspen trees influenced the design, lending our view points for the main spaces of the home. “To ensure no view was missing, our team designed a pitched roof that created a corner view in the great room, along with floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the entire south-facing public living spaces, resulting in a modern corner that creates uninterrupted views from all angles,” says Brandt Vanderbosch principal and founder.
Some other important aspects for the owners when designing were the materials, specifically mixing rolled steel and wood. These were important elements in speaking to the site and the history of the home’s location.
