Vertical Arts Successes & Stories in 2022

2022 in Review

As Vertical Arts continues to solidify itself as a leader in architecture and interior design throughout the Rockies and beyond, the team was fortunate to be prominently featured in several notable publications throughout the year, while also receiving recognition and awards from industry experts, peers and customers alike. We are proud of the hard work behind each and every one of these awards and are grateful to those that champion our work. We asked our team members to share their most enjoyable memories over the past year too. Here’s a quick snapshot of some of our proudest moments in 2022 – and we look forward to more successes with our clients, team and partners in 2023!

In the Scrapbook – Designers Favorite Moments from 2022

“My favorite moment of 2022 was getting to move a client into their newly remodeled house after starting the design years prior! Design and construction doesn’t happen like in the TV shows, so when it finally comes together and all the finishes are in you get to feast your eyes on the incredible light fixtures you’ve been thinking about for months. It makes it all worth it!” – Sarah Tiedeken O’Brien
“During 2022 there were a few really spectacular custom design details that I really enjoyed working on due to how utterly unique they are. One that immediately comes to mind is a leather wrapped pivot door that leads to a primary bedroom. There will be no other door like it on earth once it’s installed. Another is a bookcase that opens to reveal a Western-inspired speakeasy. We also designed a fireplace with hand cast limestone wall scalloping that will be extremely beautiful once installed. These one of a kind moments are what custom homes are all about.” – Andrew Phari

“Designing interiors for a home in Elevate at Wildhorse Meadows was a highlight for me in 2022. The owner has a more eclectic and playful vibe which led to fun and unique selections. It has been interesting to see black making a comeback in this project and others. Don’t let that fool you though, this home is full of color!” – Carly Kelly

“I loved the unique challenge of the variety of projects I worked on this year, from residences to breweries to pickleball facilities. My favorite thing so far has been creating the interior plan for the new pickleball facility. The vibrant colors and wayfinding graphics play nicely into creating a fun and useful space that also pays homage to Steamboats roots by incorporating some rustic mountain flair.” – Leia Farrens

“This year proved both challenging and rewarding. After working behind the scenes, I am now seeing projects come to life. It has been an incredible learning experience to be involved with a project from start to finish. From meeting the client to the installation of finishes, the devil is in the details. Working with our clients opens up my perspective and constantly shifts my design focus. Their feedback and eye help push me to be not only a better designer but communicator as well, which have both been important for the wholistic design process.”
